Rebecca Fisher worked at The Julia Morgan Center for the Arts as a theater teaching artist and arts administrator for five years, serving as the Interim Kaleidoscope Education Director her last nine months. While working at the Julia Morgan she co-created and continues to co-produce a series called Tell it On Tuesday.
Although now settled in the Bay Area, Rebecca began life in Memphis and arrived in the Bay Area by way of Massachusetts, where she received her B.A. in English Literature at Wheaton College; and Chicago, where she began her acting/improv training and performed in variety of shows ranging from children's theater, improv revues, to Shakespeare in the Park. In Chicago Rebecca began her career in arts education, working with Inclusive Theater, Chicago Leap Program and Chicago Park District.
Regionally Rebecca has performed with Bay Area One Act Festival, New Conservatory Theater, and Shotgun Players. In January of 2005, Rebecca's performance path went solo when she began developing The Magnificence of the Disaster with David Ford. She performed early versions of the piece at the 2005 SF Fringe Festival, Marin Fringe Festival, and was invited to complete the piece as a member of The Marsh Performance Initiative. After a well received show in The Marsh's Festival of New Voices in June 2006, she's scheduled to do a run at The Marsh in January of 2007.
